This week the Texas House of Representatives Transportation Committee held a hearing on House Bill 63, the Alex Brown Memorial Act, a bill relating to a statewide ban on texting while driving, by Representative Tom Craddick of Midland.

Rep. Craddick, and the bill’s joint authors, Rep. Patricia Harless, Rep. Eddie Lucio, Rep. Jose Menendez and Rep. Byron Cook, all expressed their support to the committee on the importance of this legislation. Along with other supporters testifying in favor of House Bill 63, family members of individuals who lost their lives to a texting while driving accident were also at the hearing to testify in favor of House Bill 63.

Whether or not you agree with the proposed law, with growing traffic and an increasing number of crashes, it’s more important than ever to Drive Now and Talk or Text later.

Remember, no phone call, text, or email is worth risking your life or the life of others.
